3-month discipleship track

We are excited to be inviting a small group of developing leaders and creatives to apply to join a 3-month discipleship community starting in September 2026

If you feel a calling to any form of leadership or in the creative arts (music, drama, dance, art, poetry etc.) we'd love to invite you get in touch with the Somerset House of Prayer team to chat further about joining us for 'Deeper'.

VENUE

The course will take place at various spaces at North St Church, Taunton

COST

There is a small charge of £20 for the course which enables us to cover some travel expenses for the guest speakers

WHAT WILL BE EXPECTED OF THOSE INVOLVED?

Set Friday aside each week to seek God in community with the rest of the group and be available to attend all the sessions.
Sep 11 - intro session, Sep 18 - session 1 and weekly until Dec 4. [holiday 30 Oct]
To be an active member of a local church
To commit to a lifestyle of prayer and fasting for 3-months to pray and surrender your heart to God in a deeper way
To find a mentor to pray for you, meet to chat regularly and support you throughout your time on the course
To step out in the giftings and calling God has given you and grow in praying for others, praying for healing, prophecy, creativity and leadership
To join regular weekly worship and prayer gatherings at SHoP or elsewhere
There will also be a book that everyone will read together during the course

WHAT WILL I NEED TO BE ACCEPTED ON THE COURSE?

First step get in touch with the SHoP team in person or by email to express your interest
Have a meeting with Chris or another member of the SHoP team about why you'd like to be a part of Deeper and so we can share more information with you about the course content
The SHoP team will pray and review each person who applies as we are only taking a small number of people on the course. We will likely run the course again in the future so if you aren't accepted on this course then there may be future opportunities
Chat to your church leader about your involvement. We want everyone involved to have the blessing and support of their own church leaders. If they have any questions about Deeper please encourage them to get in touch with us

WHO WILL BE SPEAKING?

Guest speakers will include a mix of church leaders from Taunton and further afield as well as some of the SHoP team. We will also invite some amazing local Christians to join us to assist with our times of prayer and ministry.

DAY OVERVIEW

9.30am - arrive

9.45am - devotional

10.00am - worship & prayer

10.45am - teaching session 1

11.30am - response time

Midday - lunch

1.00pm - worship

1.20pm - teaching session 2

2.15pm - ministry and response time, prayer & prophetic ministry

3.30pm - close
